Queen of the South fans will have to wait for more until they can watch season 5 on Netflix. Unfortunately, it’s not going to be on the platform in the following month. To be honest, it’s even going to take much longer than that.

Queen of the South’s fifth season started to make its way to its original channel USA Network back in April 2021. It stopped airing in June 2021 when all of the episodes were released. And now, fans are waiting for the season to come to Netflix to watch it. Even though the series is not among the list of Netflix Originals, it still has a lot of fans watching it on the platform.

Although the fans are eagerly waiting to see the new season on Netflix, it’s not coming this August. Netflix shared the list for August 2021 releases, but Queen of the South season 5 is nowhere to be found on that. So, we can safely say that season 5 won’t be on Netflix in August 2021. Frankly, the wait will most likely take much longer. Let’s see when Netflix can add the fifth season of the popular crime drama to its library.

Queen of the South season 5 possible Netflix release date

Needless to say, we don’t have an official release date in our hands right now. Does this prevent us from making some educated guesses? Hell no. We can speculate based on the previous information.

When we compare the previous season’s original release and Netflix release, we see a pattern. Season 4 was released in June 2019 and came to Netflix in June 2020, with exactly a year in between. Therefore, we expect to see a similar pattern this time.

Queen of the South season 5 was originally released in April 2021, as we previously mentioned. When we add a year on top of that, it leaves us with a probable April 2022 release.

So, the most possible Netflix release date for Queen of the South’s fifth season seems to be April 7th, 2022 as things stand right now.

Still, this is just an educated guess based on what we currently know. Officially, there’s no release date on the horizon, so things might change. The release date can be sooner or later than we expected as the season is already released. We’re just waiting for it to be added to another platform. So, we’ll have to wait for Netflix to announce an official release date.

Is there going to be a season 6 for Queen of the South?

Unfortunately not. When the fourth season of the series stopped airing, the producers immediately announced the fifth season. At the same time, we learned that Queen of the South season 5 would be the last one for USA Network’s popular crime drama. There will not be a sixth season for Queen of the South.

As the fifth season is the last one for the series, Netflix might do something different to add it to its library sooner. Our April 2022 prediction might not be a reality if things turn out like that. Still, we don’t know anything official about it.

So, the series is concluded right now. Someone might take it up and revive it in the future, but it’s not likely at all. Fans will have to make do with the final season.
