Cliffy Bleszinki Suggests Ryan Reynolds To Play Baird in Live-Action Adaptation of ‘Gears of War’

In recent times, the live-action adaptation of games has been an interesting genre to explore. Over the past few years, Netflix has given some very iconic series and films based on video games including the massively popular show, The Witcher. And recently, Netflix acquired to rights of the popular X-box video game series Gears of War. Furthermore, the streaming platform will team up with developer The Coalition and release not just a live-action feature film but also an adult animated series.

And the creator of the game, Cliffy Bleszinki has a few suggestions to give to Netflix. While the creator is not directly involved with the project, Bleszinki expressed his wishes on how he wants popular actors including Ryan Reynolds in the project. Here is everything you need to know.

Cliffy Bleszinki voices his choice of actors for Gears of War including Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds is an incredible actor. Deadpool fame is one of the most sought-after actors in the industry and every director wants to cast Reynolds in their film. And with the upcoming Netflix project Gears of War, the creator made expressed his wishes. When asked if Reynolds could be a part of the Netflix project, Bleszinki revealed how he wants the Deadpool star to play Baird. In a recent tweet, he wrote, “I think  @VancityReynolds would make a perfect Baird in the live action #GearsofWar movie.” 

However, Baird is not the main character of the game. Baird is a formerly retired gear soldier, and a technical mechanical, and scientific expert. Furthermore, the creator made a hilarious statement about how he does not want Chris Patt in the Netflix live adaptation.

Apart from that, Bleszinki has expressed his wishes to see the WWE star Dave Bautista as the lead character a.k.a. Marcus Fenix. Interestingly, Bautista has been voicing the character for the past few years. As of late, there is no update on the cast of Netflix’s Gears Of War. Currently, Ryan Reynolds is gearing up for a few projects including Deadpool 3 and the upcoming Apple TV+ musical drama Spirited.
