a message from James Cameron, who was swelling with pride from afar in New Zealand while she was seated in the audience.

“He, after all these years, believes in me,”

she reflected with emotion.

Separated by distance, Cameron’s words bridged the gap and clearly touched Saldaña. Although her Golden Globes nod was a subtle reminder of a previous snub

, the actor admitted moments like these and, of course, mentors like Cameron push her to keep going. Saldaña also seized the moment to shower gratitude to Emilia Pérez
