According to Hollywood insider, Jeff Sneider, Christopher Nolan is poised to embark

on his most epic adventure yet, as his upcoming adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey is reportedly set to shatter budget records, surpassing the $250 million price tag of The Dark Knight Rises

The Odyssey is a Greek epic divided into 24 books and preceded by The Iliad. It chronicles the story of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, after the Trojan War.

While historians and scholars date the piece of literature to a timeline between 750-650 BC, the first printed version did not come until 1488. Although the exact budget is not really out yet, the film is scheduled to be released worldwide on July 17, 2026

will be shot using a “brand new IMAX film technology,”
