Dave Bautista Is Mad At How Marvel Handled Drax & Thanos Storyline

Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista is mad at Marvel for how they handled Drax and Thanos’ storyline.

Dave Bautista has never shied away from speaking his mind, especially when it comes to his thoughts on Disney and Marvel. Bautista shared his frustration with the world when Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn was booted from the third film in the franchise after inappropriate tweets of his surfaced. Thankfully, Gunn’s role has been reinstated since then. Bautista has also pointed out his disappointment with how Marvel leaned into the comedic nature of his character Drax, rather than his tortured backstory. Now, Bautista has expressed his anger at Marvel for how they handled Drax and Thanos’ storyline.

Since Thanos had murdered his family, Drax was adamant about killing the Josh Brolin character in Guardians of the Galaxy. That core plot point failed to resurface in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, two films that saw Drax literally face to face with Thanos on a few occasions. Dave Bautista opened up about his frustration with Marvel when asked by a fan if Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 would focus on Drax’s mindstate and psyche in a post-Thanos world.

Ouch. It’s hard not to agree with Dave Bautista considering the last two Avengers films pretty much sidelined the core reason why Drax is the violent mercenary that he is.

Here is the synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Dave Bautista and Marvel, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content in the future!
