Star Wars: The Bad Batch Disney PlusDisney Plus has renewed Star Wars: The Bad Batch for a second season.

Produced by Dave Filoni, Star Wars: The Bad Batch filled the void for an animated Star Wars series after Rebels called it curtains. And with Disney Plus only commissioning one season to wrap up the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series, fans were sorely hoping for another animated series that would live up to its caliber and legacy. Luckily, The Bad Batch, which operated as both a spin-off and sequel for The Clone Wars, was a smash hit from the get-go for both fans and critics. The series has been praised for its intense, mature storyline and evocative animation. With the first season set to wrap up, Disney Plus has officially renewed the series for a second season, promising fans more adventures in the galaxy far, far away.

In a tweet, Disney Plus confirmed that The Bad Batch‘s second season would be hitting the streaming service sometime in 2022. Seeing as the first season began to air in early May, it’s fair to expect the second season to arrive sometime around then. The first season is set to wrap up with a two-part finale, which starts tomorrow.

Are you excited to see the Star Wars: The Bad Batch season finale?

Here is the synopsis for Star Wars: The Bad Batch:

The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill, which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.

The Bad Batch is executive produced by Dave Filoni, Athena Portillo, Brad Rau, and Jennifer Corbett with Carrie Beck as co-executive producer and Josh Rimes as producer. Rau is also serving as supervising director, with Corbett as head writer. Dee Bradley Baker is behind the voices of Clone Force 99.
