Fans are now seeing a completely new side to Jason Bateman as an actor. After his grey Marty Byrde, the actor stepped into a complete villainous role in Netflix’s Carry-On

. Bateman played The Traveler in the movie who plans to kill a politician on a plane with the nerve agent. Although he was the villain in the movie, he played a much more grounded and realistic version of it. This departure from the norm was appreciated by many fans and critics since Carry-On

’s release. Now, fans look forward to seeing more performances like this from Bateman.

Jason Bateman is returning to the Zootopia

franchise with a sequel. He will be reprising his role as Nick Wilde alongside Ginnifer Goodwin’s Judy Hopps in the 2025 animated buddy cop comedy. The sequel has already been scheduled for a release on November 26, 2025. Additionally, Bateman is teaming up with Stranger Things

star David Harbour for a darkly comedic HBO limited series titled DTF St. Louis

, which they are also going to executive produce. 

The Steven Conrad show, which has been in development for more than two years, originally cast Pedro Pascal alongside Harbour. However, Pascal has since left the project, and Bateman stepped in to take his place. The show is currently in pre-production. Bateman will also be directing and starring in Netflix’s Black Rabbit,

 where, he would also have an anticipated reunion with One of his Ozark

co-stars.

While all these projects have entered production, there is also one that is still being discussed. This potential project would see a major reunion between Bateman and his former co-star, Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman, the comedic duo of Hollywood, previously worked together on the 2011 fantasy comedy, The Change-Up

. Over a decade later, Sony is planning to bring them back together for a black comedy mystery film remake, Clue.

Hollywood has been trying to remake the 1985 classic for years, and last year, Sony finally secured the rights to develop it.

Both Bateman and Reynolds were initially in talks to work behind the scenes of the project as well—Bateman as a director and Reynolds as a producer. However, in a 2020 interview with Collider, Bateman revealed that he would no longer be directing it. Nonetheless, Bateman assured fans that Clue

is still in development and once Ozark

wrapped up, he would be more than happy to return to the project.
