has been one of the biggest shows on TV since 2016. However, Season 4 dropped way back in 2022, and it looks like we will not see Season 5 until the latter half of 2025. This massive gap between the last two seasons has left fans feeling restless. And now, some are getting their Stranger Things
fix in the most random ways. At this rate, it seems like they do not even need the Duffer Brothers anymore.
After creating loads of posters and fan art, Stranger Things
fans have now taken it a step further by making their own teasers and trailers for the show’s fifth and final season. One such trailer recently surfaced on YouTube
, and as soon as fans got the notification, they flocked to the platform to check it out. Sadly, the Stranger Things
Season 5 Vol. 1 trailer turned out to be fake and fan-made. It was pretty obvious, too, as the trailer used clips from past seasons and even borrowed footage from other shows, including what looked like Netflix’s Dark
.

Another telltale sign that the trailer was not legit was the use of AI-generated voiceovers and dialogue. But who can blame these fans, really? Stranger Things
Season 5 has, indeed, been a long time coming, mainly because of delays caused by the Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strikes in 2023, which threw production off schedule and pushed the release date into 2025. On top of that, earlier delays caused by the pandemic also disrupted the filming of previous seasons, stretching out the timeline for Season 5 even further. But fans have had enough.
Now, some content creators have taken it upon themselves to fill the void with their own Stranger Things
-inspired material, which has only added to fans’ growing demand for Season 5 content.
Stranger Things season 5 anticipation reaches unimaginable peak
For years, Stranger Things
Season 5 has been a major topic of discussion
. Fans are busy speculating about character arcs, guessing which beloved characters might meet their end, and dreaming about the return of old favorites. But the recent wave of AI-generated trailers seems to have struck a nerve with them. Many fans are calling out these fake teasers for toying with their emotions just for millions of views.
People need to learn patience they just wrapped filming on a season. The longer the wait the better the trailer.

That said, not everyone is mad. Some fans have applauded the creativity behind these efforts. Many even praised the trailer’s thumbnail featuring Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown
, saying it was enough to get them excited for the real thing.
Where credit’s due, the thumbnail fairly looks legit.

At this point I don’t even blame all these fake teasers people create, they’re really starving us out here for finalized content that will be in the final season on screen and everything

At the moment, though, there is no official release date for a Stranger Things
trailer. With the new season dropping sometime in 2025, fans will have to wait until we are closer to the release for any legitimate sneak peeks. The big question is whether the show can pick up right where it left off and recapture the magic—or if this break will leave the momentum sputtering out before the season even lands on Netflix.
