Deadpool & Wolverine
is all set to grab the box office queue to its name this week as it hits the theaters 4 days from now. Reputed as the Marvel Jesus which is poised to put an end to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s box office drought, the priority-based release of Marvel Studios is now sealing the tomb of a final forecast on its box office outcome with million bucks of scream from fans around the globe. However, it remains to be seen if fans have the last laugh or if Deadpool & Wolverine
choose to write its history.
MyTimeToShineHello recently sparked a discussion on X to gather fan opinions on the potential box office performance of Deadpool &
Wolverine
for its opening weekend. The original Deadpool
, released in 2016, holds the record for the largest R-rated opening with $132.4 million. Fans, on average, estimated that Deadpool & Wolverine
could debut anywhere between $150-200 million.

Earlier, NRG, Screen Engine, and other tracking services predicted a domestic opening for Disney/Marvel Studios’ first R-rated film to be in the range of $160-165 million, according to Deadline’s report from July
. While this aligns with fan expectations, it is worth noting that these tracking reports focus on domestic figures, whereas fans are discussing worldwide openings. Therefore, the global debut has to be larger than the anticipated range.

Not all were of the opinion that Deadpool & Wolverine
would debut within this range, but the figures surely put many in a daze.
Fans are once again divided over the prediction for Deadpool & Wolverine’s opening weekend
Deadpool & Wolverine
is poised not only to rescue the MCU from its box office slump but also to potentially set a new record for an R-rated film’s debut. If the movie hits the domestic box office numbers previously predicted, fan estimates will probably fall significantly short. Deadpool & Wolverine
had already achieved a $200 million box office opening prediction before this, and with The Quorum still supporting those figures, it is possible that fans’ predictions may be off.
I’m looking for the opening weekend to exceed more than $165M. Maybe $200M…🤔

$150M. Highest opening for an R-rated film.

Oh, it’s definitely going to be a success. I see $180M domestic in the first two weeks easy.
Between nostalgia, Jackman, Reynolds, and fans finally getting what we want with stuff like the yellow suit, it’ll be $850-$1B for sure.
But even this won’t save Disney.

While some fans envisioned a billion-dollar debut globally, others were more cautious, considering it an unlikely scenario.
Worldwide? 320M or higher

it’s definitely hitting ALMOST endgame numbers since it’s basically under the same premise and universe.
Same levels of fan service. might be movie of the year. pic.twitter.com/yrJYSoCn4M

For fans familiar with the unpredictability of box-office forecasts, however, nothing seems too far-fetched. Especially, with Kevin Feige hinting at an Avengers-level success and the film benefiting from both exceptional craftsmanship and Ryan Reynolds’
promotional savvy, Deadpool & Wolverine
appears ready to exceed expectations. Moreover, Shawn Levy has demanded an Avatar 2
treatment
for the movie, which too, has to come at a price. Hence, fans might have to buckle their seatbelts as the era of speculation is expected to meet an end when Deadpool & Wolverine
walk in.
