Meghan Markle is facing troubled times because of her much-fancied Spotify podcast Archetypes. The show that forms a part of Sussexes’ $18 million deal with the audio streaming platform started with a bang. Archetypes attained first place in the United States and other countries across the globe for the first two weeks, with Serena Williams and Mariah Carey as the guests.

It also attained a nomination as the best pop podcast in 2022 by the prestigious People’s Choice Award. However, the initial success has now faded as Meghan Markle has failed to retain the listeners. The tenth episode of the show, The Audacity of the Activists with Jameela Jamil & Shohreh Aghdashloo, is ranking at 77th place in the US. Meanwhile, the Archetypes series is sitting in 22nd place. The massive dip in the rankings is a major concern and Meghan Markle’s constant interruptions and stories might have a major role to play in it.

A glance at the talk time of Meghan Markle in the podcast

Archetypes podcast promises to deliver intimate and honest conversations with notable women personalities to shed light on the troops that pull women down. However, a study suggests that Meghan Markle dominates all the episodes of her podcasts. The Duchess hardly gives a proper talk time to her famous guests as she is the key speaker in all the episodes.

As per The News, the former American actress spoke for an alarming 30 minutes and six seconds in her opening episode with Serena Williams. On the other hand, the tennis sensation received only 17 minutes and 12 seconds to put her point forward. In the eighth episode of Archetypes titled Good Wife/Bad Wife, Good Mom/Bad Mom, Meghan Markle again dominated the conversation by speaking for 26 minutes and one second. 

One of the three guests in the episode, Sophie Trudeau, spoke for only two minutes in the entire show. Moreover, Markle keeps mentioning her husband Prince Harry in the conversations. The podcast is about women but the Duke’s name has popped up 11 times in the ten episodes so far.
