For the excitement of Jake Gyllenhaal’s fans, we finally have the trailer of the much-anticipated crime thriller – The Guilty. The 1 hour 30 minutes film takes place over the course of a single morning. A lot of thrills and action awaits to be seen in this Netflix Original production based on Gustav Moller’s acclaimed Danish drama, Den Skyldige (Danish for The Guilty).
The film’s director is Antoine Fuqua, also the director of Training Day and The Equalizer. Nic Pizzolatto, who also created the True Detective series, wrote the screenplay.
The Guilty Trailer
Joe Baylor (Gyllenhaal) is a demoted detective who now works at the 911 dispatch call center. A curious call from an abducted woman to Baylor is where the film actually begins. Not offered help from the police, he takes up the case himself. However, it is not that simple as a more sinister plot is at play. He soon discovers that facing the truth through revelations and reckonings is the only way out.
What to expect from The Guilty?
An emergency phone call from a distressed woman sets the ball rolling. Though the trailer succeeds in hiding most of the action as it only focuses on Baylor at the call center, the expectations are high as the story looks fast-paced. Any thriller running on deadline is more attractive, and The Guilty is undoubtedly one. Baylor has to save the mysterious and troubled woman anyhow before any mishap occurs. A 911 operator solving a seemingly high-profile abduction case by himself promises frenzy among fans.
The talented actor Jake Gyllenhaal’s exceptional acting always set the bar high. In this Netflix Original, the same is clear from the trailer. Moreover, the direction of Antoine Fuqua will be exciting to watch. The close-up shots of Gyllenhaal in the trailer are gripping, and the music adds to heighten anxious emotions. Besides, the film also stars Ethan Hawke and Paul Dano in key roles.
