The Marvel Cinematic Universe is all about the heroes saving the world, but who is suiting up for those doing the saving? Amidst the intergalactic quest for box office redemption, Thunderbolts*
has strapped in for a cinematic plunge to rewrite the rules of the universe. While it may look like the superhero world is light years distant from reality, Marvel Comics says otherwise. If fans thought they could ride another Marvel train without asking the superheroes about their day, Lewis Pullman is here to set the record straight.
In fact, Pullman is bridging the gap between reel and reality with a thematic recurrence that probes the world to pause and reflect.
Lewis Pullman sheds light on a thematic focus of Thunderbolts*
In a recent conversation with Phase Hero host Brandon Davis, Lewis Pullman joined
Hannah John-Kamen for a full-throttle discussion about Thunderbolts*.
Davis brought attention to the symbolic recurrence of “I’m fine”
in Jake Schrier’s Marvel flick to applaud the vision.
Upon being asked whether breathing life into that story through Thunderbolts*
brought them new perspectives, Pullman revealed that the discussion was going on throughout the movie.
THUNDERBOLTS has saved the MCU! Wonderful performances from the entire cast. Special highlights go to Florence Pugh, Lewis Pullman, & David Harbour. I can’t wait to watch this as many times as I can. Beautiful look at the power of unity in the face of mental health. #Thunderbolts pic.twitter.com/TpHCKN6cz9

Pullman acknowledged the catchphrase has varied meanings, but in Thunderbolts*,
they wanted to show that the “conversation doesn’t really end there.”
The key takeaway was to see whether “I’m fine”
comes with a follow-up question, which eventually became the modus operandi for the movie. Naturally, it also serves as a reminder for the cast to progress monitor beyond what meets the eye.

Speaking of his MCU debut as Bob/Sentry, Lewis Pullman eventually shed light on his character and how he finds vulnerability in a character as powerful as that.
Lewis Pullman opens up about Bob/Sentry in Thunderbolts*
Fans cannot wait to see the Marvel Comics montage roaring once again on the big screens, and with Thunderbolts*
, the otherworldly anticipation just rings in right.
During his recent discussion with Phase Hero host Brandon Davis, Lewis Pullman, who portrays Bob/Sentry in Thunderbolts*,
was asked how he found a vulnerability in a powerful being who is often compared to Superman. It turns out Pullman’s difficulty was in playing the reverse.
Okay, Thunderbolts, I see you! It’s been a while since I’ve genuinely enjoyed an MCU movie but #Thunderbolts was great!
I wasn’t expecting the emotional gut punches throughout. The cast was fantastic, but Florence Pugh, Lewis Pullman and Julia Louis-Dreyfus stole the show! pic.twitter.com/Kl1Kb8pvO6

Pullman relates to Bob’s impostor syndrome. And since Bob is on a journey of self-discovery, self-belief, and finding his worth, leaping with those emotions and translating them for the audience was the actual task. As an MCU newcomer, Bob’s journey reflected his own, to find himself on a boat of superheroes and convince himself that he too is one. While every hero brings a lesson with them, Bob brings a question: Who saves those who save you?
