NJZ’s Danielle Echoes Chappell Roan’s Grammy Diction Amidst Label Dispute With ADOR

No artist enters showbiz without their own set of dreams. And if they are lucky enough, they find some helping hands on the way to make those dreams reality. This is why nearly every big-impact artist is backed by labels, but not every assistance lands on the right side of history—think Taylor Swift.

As the former New Jeans group undergoes critical label disputes with ADOR, NJZ’s Danielle recently made headlines with her very own version of what appeared to be Chappell Roan’s Grammy speech.

Roan’s Grammy iteration sparked quite the debates and discussions but Danielle’s reiteration underscores a recurring pattern of misfortunes.

NJZ’s Danielle follows in the footsteps of Chappell Roan amidst ADOR feud

The K-pop group, New Jeans, now known as NJZ, has been in the hot waters of controversy since their stand against ADOR, their former label. Although the group announced their departure and rebranded, ADOR has refused to sit back. However, NJZ’s Danielle recently went live to deliver a powerful message, standing up for artists’ rights, emulating Chappell Roan’s Grammy speech, reflecting on her trying times as a trainee.

Danielle realizes that not every trainee would be fated to a destiny like hers. However, she knows plenty of people who start even younger than herself. Reflecting on her trainee days when she was constantly being “compared

” and “ranked

,” Danielle hoped that no one else undergoes the heartbreaking situation even “remotely similar”

to hers. She acknowledged that a good deal of newcomers may lack the voice to take a stand. So, on behalf of those young dreamers, she stood towering, saying, “Every individual deserves respect and dignity.”

Though Danielle’s stance moved many, one cannot say the same about Chappell Roan, whose Grammy speech saw a chaotic upheaval.

Chappell Roan’s red carpet entries do not go down without some sort of controversies

and the 2025 Grammy Awards was no different. Roan took center stage to accept the prestigious Best New Artist win, but her speech was remotely related to her win. Instead, the star of the evening seized the opportunity to call out labels for their mistreatment of artists.

Roan was aware of the backlash that was about to ensue. Yet, she slammed labels for not providing emerging artists with livable conditions or wages, for a matter of fact. She reflected on her personal experience after the Atlantic Records dropped her in 2020, citing the lack of sources to even afford her healthcare insurance. Though the aftermath was brutal, NJZ’s Danielle seemingly is singing a similar tune to Roan’s, illuminating the dark sides of showbiz so that no one else has to follow.
