All about Number 24 on Netflix

Netflix set a New Year’s Day release for Number 24

, which hit the Norwegian theaters earlier in 2024. The nearly 2-hour-long film follows Gunnar Sønsteby from Rjukan, whose resistance against Nazi Germany on the day of invasion went down in history with the gradual formation of the “Oslo Gang.”

Under Sønsteby’s leadership, the Oslo Gang went on a mission to sabotage the transition and cemented his legend as Norway’s greatest war hero.

Number 24

stars Sjur Vatne Brean and Erik Hivju as Gunnar Sønsteby at different chapters of his life, alongside August Wittgenstein, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Ines Høysæter Asserson, Per Kjerstad, and Mark Noble. Although the movie hit the streamer on January 1, it was released in theaters in October 2024. Boasting an 8.1 IMDb rating out of 10, the Second World War film also flexes a whopping 95% approval on Popcornmeter. Though a Rotten Tomatoes score is not available for the flick, it will not be long before the reviews outpace the frenzy surrounding the movie.
