Ozark season 4 is in the works right now with a lot of fans waiting for it to be released on Netflix.

Ozark is sure one of the most popular Netflix Originals out there, so fans are waiting for its new season impatiently. The third season landed on Netflix in March 2020, and fans have been waiting since. Even though we’re probably not anywhere near its release date, the production process might be close to a wrap. This leads the fans to speculate about a possible release window for Ozark season 4, quite naturally. It’s been over a year since the latest season was released, after all. However, the prolonged wait for the fourth season of Ozark has some pretty valid reasons behind it.

Why is Ozark season 4 taking so long?

As you can guess, the pandemic affected the production of Ozark‘s fourth season, too. Just like every major production, Ozark season 4 has been the victim of the pandemic. Luckily, the widespread availability of vaccination helped the crew to lessen that effect a little bit. The lead actor Jason Bateman had some words to say about that, thanking Joe Biden for a better vaccination schedule.

“I mean, basically, it’s going to get to us a whole lot quicker now that Joe Biden’s got his hand on the wheel. It would have taken longer with the last administration, so I think we’re gonna get it to TV sooner thanks to Uncle Joe.”

We also know that Ozark‘s crew is one of the most strict teams in terms of the pandemic restrictions out there. Precautions are probably slowing down the production process, but it’s still the least they can do to ensure the safety of the actors and the crew.

In addition to that, Ozark season 4 is going to be longer than usual. The first three seasons of the series consisted of ten episodes each. The fourth season is going to be the final season, so they’re going to have fourteen episodes in it. Therefore, the production takes longer, too.

The season will be broken into two parts, each with seven episodes. That can give Netflix some time to release the first part as soon as possible, then finish the work on the second part to release it later. We’ll see if they plan to play it like that.

What is the release date of Ozark season 4?

Let’s cut to the chase and check out the possible release date of Ozark season 4.

For those of you who were expecting a 2021 release, we have some bad news for you. A few months ago, Netflix announced some of the prominent productions that would be released in Q4 2021. Those productions included The Witcher season 2, Cobra Kai season 4, and You season 3. However, the list did not include Ozark’s fourth season, which seems like a perfect fit among those. So, we can pretty much rule out a late 2021 release for Ozark season 4.

Still, don’t expect to see the new season much later than that. We project an early 2022 release date for Ozark season 4 – at least for its first part.
