Dakota Johnson and Splitsville team takes international reroute before release

Dakota Johnson is leading the charge, accompanied by the star cast of Adria Arjona, Michael Angelo Covino, and Kyle Marvin. A couple of friends will be seen playing a couple stuck in a dead-end marriage, while the marriage of Johnson and Covino’s characters flounders over their acceptance of an open relationship. But sadly, Netflix users cannot catch it there, as the movie is set for a theatrical release on August 22, 2025. And before Splitsville

makes it to the theaters, it is scheduled for an honorable screening at the ongoing prestigious Cannes Film Festival on May 19, 2025.

Giving a take on domestic married life, the movie will take you far away from what is traditional and is directed by the star, Michael Angelo Covino, who also co-wrote the screenplay with castmate Kyle Marvin. It also stars Prince Rodney, Jessika Mathurin, and others. Written by the male leads and under the umbrella of Neon and Topic Studios, the movie is also a story-oriented money move for its cast.

In shock, he seeks help from friends, Julie and Paul, played by Dakota Johnson and Michael Angelo Covino. Learning that their secret to a happy married life is an open marriage, Carey follows an unexplored path to create more chaos. Besides the executive producers, Paul Barbeau and Adam Paulsen, the lead stars, except Arjona, are also attached to the movie as producers, showing their belief in the story.

This is the first time this particular group of stars is coming together, with Arjona already a known face for Hit Man
