Stranger Things season 4 going to be announced very soon. And the still, series fans wonder how “soon” it is.

At the end of this July, a prominent name from the crew of Stranger Things gave us a piece of good news. It was none other than the producer Shawn Levy, who talked about the fourth season. In addition to revealing his feelings about the next season, he said a release date announcement was imminent and the season was coming soon enough. He also spoke about the reasons behind the long wait for Stranger Things season 4.

“It is visually and narratively very ambitious, much more ambitious than the prior three seasons. The delay is due in large measure to COVID and the pace at which we have to work to do so safely, but it also happens to be the season that we chose to go much bigger. It’s the scale of this season and the multi-settings of Season 4.”

It is coming soon enough. And as for when exactly that will be announced – quite soon.”

Thus, we started to hope for a release date to be with us in no time. After this interview, Levy was in another one, this time talking to Collider. The website interpreted his remarks to tease a release date announcement for August. To be honest, it seemed like that, too, and many fans were on board with that idea. Here’s what Levy said when the interviewers asked him about a release date announcement.

“I have been, along with the brothers, we have been kind of tag-teaming it and directing it as recently as now. So not quite done filming. Imminently. All I can say is by the time this airs, we’ll at least have given the world a ballpark. And I’m not allowed to say more. By the time Free Guy comes out, August 13th, part of that answer will be known.”

However, it turned out that he was implying a different kind of tease. So, a release date announcement for August is not totally certain right now.

When will Stranger Things season 4 release date be announced?

As Shawn Levy told in his earlier interview, the release date is coming “quite soon.” The announcement can also be in August, but it’s best not to see it as certain now.

Usually, Netflix announces the release dates a month or two before the actual releases. As for Stranger Things season 4, the expected release date is nowhere near that. However, they announced S3’s release date seven months before the actual release. This means we can see Stranger Things as an exception. And, it’s very likely that we have around 7-8 months until the release date.

August will most likely mark an important milestone in the production of Stranger Things season 4. The actors are finishing their scenes one by one, and it’s just a matter of time until they can call it a wrap. We might see a new teaser along with the wrap-up announcement. Better yet, they can announce the release date for Stranger Things season 4 with that teaser. They can also just give us a period of time or a month. Just like Shawn Levy said, we will learn “part of that answer.”

So yeah, although an announcement in August is not certain, it’s very likely right now. As for the release date, April and May 2022 are good possibilities, but there’s nothing official yet. We’ll see.
