The series comprises five main issues titled World War Hulk and three other limited series—World War Hulk: Front Line, World War Hulk: Gamma Corps, and World War Hulk: X-Men.

World War Hulk has been a rumored focus of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years, and several cues have hinted at its possible inclusion in the larger storyline. However, the roles the Illuminati and Sakaar play in the arc and how they were brought into the MCU. One of the triggers of World War Hulk is the Illuminati’s banishing of Hulk from the face of the Earth.

teased World War Hulk’s storyline in the first episode when a Sakaarian spaceship prompted Bruce Banner and Jennifer Walters to go off course. World War Hulk comics follow the Hulk’s departure from Sakaar, the planet in Thor: Ragnarok

. In the second episode, Bruce declares, “I got some things to take care of,

” as he flies out in another spaceship.

While Sakaar is absolutely crucial to World War Hulk, Thor: Ragnarok

did not go into depth about his time on Sakaar. It is unclear what happens next in She-Hulk

, but head writer Jessica Gao addressed the potential to TVLine.com,

saying, “I think it kind of opens up the possibility, if Marvel chooses to do something with that, to pick up that story.”

Though the opportunity lies ahead like an open book with Red Hulk already on the MCU roster, World War Hulk’s MCU adaptation might still see a lot of changes due to MCU’s treatment of the character from comics to the screen. 

When can a World War Hulk movie be released in the MCU?

The World War Hulk storyline could fit in MCU’s Phase 6 between Avengers: Doomsday

and Secret Wars.

Rumors also suggest that the movie might be released before Secret Wars.

 But the best course of action is to address it after the Multiverse Saga, since it could take away focus from the Avengers

movies.
