Diego vs Ben: Who Is Winning the Race Before the Umbrella Academy Season 3 Premiere

With the coming of The Umbrella Academy right around the corner, we are going to see many new characters and meet the old ones again. Diego Hargreeves is a character fans know from previous seasons of the show while Ben is one they’re going to meet soon. The characters who are both the Number Twos from their respective academy have been introduced for season 3 by Netflix on Twitter. Here’s the tweet that shows us the first glimpse of Diego vs Ben.

Why are they pitted against each other?

The Umbrella Academy season 2 ended with the Hargreeve siblings stopping 1963’s doomsday. But, their meeting with Reginald Hargreeves caused changes in their future. They came back to the present, only to find that the Sparrow Academy had overtaken the Umbrella Academy.

The Sparrow Academy is a better version of the kids from the Umbrella Academy, albeit a little unfriendly.

The kids from the Sparrow Academy are:

  • No. 1: Marcus Hargreeves
  • No. 2: Ben Hargreeves
  • No. 3: Fei Hargreeves
  • No. 4: Alphonso Hargreeves
  • No. 5: Sloane Hargreeves
  • No. 6: Jayme Hargreeves
  • No. 7: Christopher Hargreeves

Diego vs Ben: who is stronger?

We have seen Diego from season 1 of the Netflix Original. With several combat skills under his belt, Diego is one of the strongest members of the academy. Ben, on the other hand, is a newly introduced character. While we do not know of his powers in the Netflix series yet, we know that is going to be one of the leading characters from the additions this season.

Considering how Ben belongs to the Sparrow Academy, which at least Reginald Hargreeves considered to be the stronger counterpart of the Umbrella Academy, chances are that Ben might just outshine Diego. Nonetheless, we’re not jumping to any conclusions before the premiere of season 3 on Netflix.
