Star Wars Joel Edgerton Obi-Wan Kenobi Ewan McGregorJoel Edgerton recently shared that he doesn’t know much about the Obi-Wan Kenobi series despite being in it.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is currently filming in Los Angeles, and we’ve seen barely gotten a glimpse at Ewan McGregor in costume so far. Before filming began, the cast for the upcoming series was announced, and that included Joel Edgerton, who was merely an unknown when he played Owen Lars in Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones.

In Obi-Wan Kenobi, Joel Edgerton will also reunite with Aunt Beru actress Bonnie Piesse. While Kenobi production is well underway, Edgerton shared with that he has no idea what the Star Wars series is about:

“I’m unable to discuss [the series] and potentially totally as in the dark as you are. We all know the universe of Star Wars is on serious lockdown. Part of the reason for that is that people don’t want the stories too spoiled before they come out. The great thing about Star Wars fans are they are the creators of the next Star Wars universes and I think that whoever’s creating these things are creating them with the fans in mind, knowing that they hold the keys to that universe. To deviate too far from what you might expect could mean death by lightsaber and yet, to not introduce surprises within that mix is death to creativity.”

How big of a role do you think Joel Edgerton’s Owen Lars will have in Obi-Wan Kenobi? Speculate below!

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been described as a special event series for Disney Plus, and details on the upcoming Star Wars series are being hidden away on Tatooine. Still, we do know the series will feature a rematch between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and before their final confrontation in A New Hope.

Directed by Deborah Chow from Joby Harold’s scripts, Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.
